Jim Panos Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Statement made by Jim Panos is in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act (MSA) 2015.

Introduction

Modern slavery and human trafficking is completely unacceptable in modern society and business plays an important role in tackling it. Jim Panos fully supports the principles of the Modern Slavery Act and takes a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain.

 About Jim Panos

Jim Panos is the Transformational Career Coach who helps professionals in London and across the globe to find their passion at work as well as transforms organisations through well-being. Regarding Jim Panos’s services to individuals, these comprise life & career coaching, one-to-one or via various programmes and events. Concerning the organisations, Jim Panos offers a variety of well-being programmes, including Productivity, Engagement, Well-being Strategy, Brand and Culture Enhancement, Leadership, Work-Life Balance and Resilience & Stress.

Governance and Policies Employees and Suppliers

Jim Panos aims to provide a workplace that is inclusive, rewarding and creates opportunities for all of our people. In order to ensure our current suppliers and upcoming employees understand and comply with the policies that govern working with Jim Panos, we ask all employees and suppliers to attend our mandatory Code of Business Conduct webinar. Employees and suppliers who become aware of or suspect any conduct that they believe violates any applicable law, rule, regulation, company policy or other provision of the Code of Business Conduct, are required to report improper conduct as quickly as possible.

The key components of our Business Code of Conduct relating to the Modern Slavery Act are, but not limited to, child labour, freedom of employment, employment relationships, treating employees with respect and dignity, discrimination, wages, working hours, freedom of association and health and safety. Employees and suppliers can report the matter directly to Jim Panos himself or an upcoming Compliance Officer, People team representative, member of the Legal department. Our recruitment policy includes our zero tolerance approach to modern slavery as part of our recruitment principles, with the expectation that our recruitment partners will reflect this commitment. Jim Panos takes a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and expects our suppliers to do the same. We expect all suppliers to meet the disclosure requirements under the 2 MSA 2015 and to undertake the necessary due diligence to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in their operations and supply chains. We expect from all our suppliers, and before proceeding to any partnership with them, to solemnly declare that there is no slavery, forced labour or human trafficking in its business or at any stage of its supply chain. Suppliers and their suppliers who manufacture products should also meet the provisions of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code.

Due Diligence

Our operations

Jim Panos has sought to take appropriate steps with regard to both our in-house resourcing team and preferred resourcing partners to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within our operations.

Supplier assessments and monitoring

Any risk of slavery our human trafficking would sit predominantly in our supply chain. In order to address this risk, we are planning to partner with an engaged global supply chain assessment specialist in the next 6 months. As part of this assessment, our suppliers are going to be required to provide evidence of their environmental, social and ethical activities. Once each supplier is assessed, our future partner will provide their assessment against environmental, social and ethical criteria, enabling Jim Panos to evaluate the performance and risk associated with each supplier. In addition our partner will provide an alert system, supplementing our Business Code of Conduct, which flags specific human rights indicators including: working conditions, discrimination, labour relations, child & forced labour, freedom of association, human rights issues and health & safety standards

Supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement

In addition to our future partner support, Jim Panos will regularly monitor supply chain risk and compliance. If a supplier assessment shows, or it subsequently transpires, that a new or existing supplier is not adhering to our Business Code of Conduct, Jim Panos will seek to work with them to address such non-adherence through a mutually agreed corrective action plan.

 Training

Our procurement team play an important role in ensuring that our suppliers participate in, and comply with, our future on-going assessment programme. We deliver Business Code of Conduct training to create internal understanding of our responsible procurement and supply chain approach.

Sustainability

Our policies and practices

Eco-friendly premises

Despite the fact that we currently operate online, we declare hereby our unquestionable intention to provide eco-friendly premises for our future on-site clients, suppliers and employees as we grow.

Sustainability Food Supply

Eco-friendly meals, such as meals based on vegetables, fruits, legumes and whole grains, will play a key role in our sustainability policy. Plant-based meals will be provided to our clients, in upcoming retreat programmes, our suppliers and employees, in our future premises and business travels, out of charge or/and at a lower price than harmful for the environment foods, such as junk food, food containing processed carbs or trans fat, and animal protein food, especially meat (mainly beef, pork, chicken and lamp) and its dairy products.

The current policy is going to be integrated in our upcoming well-being programmes on physical and mental health and nutrition.

Education

Jim Panos solemnly declares his intention and plan to create an e-learning educational platform on the environment and sustainability in order to both raise awareness about their importance in our world and educate his current and future clients, suppliers and employees on sustainability and environmental protection. This way they’ll be sensitised to the value of our planet and take on their own part of responsibility for our planet’s protection and prosperity.

Jim Panos Current Practices

The aforementioned policies are firmly followed by Jim Panos himself in his personal and professional life, including plant-based nutrition, recycling, use of public transportation as well as raising the awareness required to his clients, suppliers, friends, family, acquaintances and anyone in his social milieu.

Our People

Our vision is to create a culture where working at and with Jim Panos is nothing but a ”second family”. By this, we mean a place where trust, integrity, respect, inclusion, love, authenticity and passion for work and social contribution thrive.

Trust, Integrity & Respect

We trust and believe in our people be the best they can be, in their work and life, and our people can count on us. Their high integrity and respect to themselves and others define our integrity and respect to the people we serve.

Inclusion, Love & Authenticity

Inclusion is the incarnation of diversity. That is, although diversity is necessary for the accomplishment of our vision, it is not enough. Its actual application is also required, inclusion. And inclusion takes place only when a great variety of opinions is expressed and listened to. For this reason, we’ll take all the necessary measures and actions to build and grow a company where:

  1. A 50:50 gender balance in leadership roles is established.
  2. The median gender pay gap is null or minimal.
  3. There is a fair representation of Ethnic Minorities.
  4. There is a fair representation of the LGTBQ community.
  5. There is a fair representation of people with any kind of disability.
  6. There is generally a fair representation of people from all walks of life.

Inclusion can only be achieved by creating a culture that promotes and advocates teamwork, curiosity, transparency and authenticity. In other words, giving our people full permission to be themselves at work and express their unique point of view at a great ease. Of course, inclusion and authenticity cannot stand without love. Because it’s our love for people and their happiness that drives us.

Passion

Our vision is to inspire 3 billion people in 195 countries by 2060 to find their passion at work. This cannot be reached without passion itself. That is, people who are really passionate about their work and our vision. We support our people by offering them as well as their families free access to all our current and upcoming coaching products and services.

  1. We will create an inclusive environment, where everyone’s individuality is celebrated and valued.

We will do this by building our leadership capability to be curious and value difference in our current and future team through activities such as educational programmes and events for inclusion. We will conduct an audit of our policies and procedures to make sure they are inclusive to all and are being applied consistently by every new and current leader. And we will support our future employees to set up inclusive employee networks, such as a women’s, LGBT+, cultural, religious and disability engagement networking groups. These groups will be an important part of our working life. We will promote our commitment to diversity through our internal communications channels and we will ensure our external marketing is inclusive for all clients.

  1. We will attract, recruit and develop a diverse workforce, unlock the full potential and unleash the passion of all our inconceivably outstanding people.

We’ll do this by identifying innovative ways to recruit talent and we will develop an inclusive hiring toolkit. We will work to build strategic partnerships with various organisations to help us attract a diverse workforce. We will develop a unique and fully customised to our future employees personal development programme that will inspire and support our people in, at least, the following areas:     1) Passion Awareness 2) Passion at Work 3) Productivity 4) Engagement 5) Leadership 6) Work-Life Balance 7) Resilience & Stress 7) Mental & Physical Well-being.

Our Suppliers

  • Suppliers should comply with local and national environmental legislation.
  • Suppliers of tourist attractions or hotels featuring animals should avoid any form of animal neglect or cruelty and fully adhere to the minimum standards set out in the ABTA Global Guidelines for Animal Welfare.
  • Suppliers are required to ensure products associated with high rainforest destruction risk (i.e., made from, or consisting of, beef, leather, paper, wood, soy, palm oil or biofuels) are responsibly sourced through transparent supply chains with the appropriate independent certification.
  • Suppliers should monitor and reduce the environmental impacts of their business including:
    • Reducing fossil energy and fuel use, electricity use, and associated greenhouse gas emissions.
    • Reducing and recycling waste.
    • Ensuring responsible water management, including water saving measures and protection of supply of clean water to communities where these are affected by supplier operations.
    • Minimising the use of environmentally damaging chemicals, and ensuring responsible disposal to prevent pollution of land and water sources.
    • Preventing negative business impacts on forests, land use, biodiversity and wild life, and ensuring high-value native eco-systems are maintained.

All goods and services should be as resource efficient as possible, e.g. energy efficient lighting and appliances, fuel efficient cars, renewable electricity or low water use appliances.

We have a strong emphasis on reducing our environmental impact, managing effectively our supply chains, and otherwise improving lives around the world.  The products and services we’ll buy are an essential part of our objective to do business for good.

In a cycle of continual improvement:

  • We source goods and services in a way that treats the people we work with (directly and indirectly) with respect and dignity.
  • We support practices that minimise damage to the environment and natural resources on which we all depend.
  • We promote positive animal welfare standards. To do this, we ask our suppliers to comply with our Business Code of Conduct. This policy lays out the standards that we expect from our suppliers. These are in line with meeting international standards on basic human rights, such as those set by the International Labour organization (ILO) and the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and legislation against human enslavement, such as the UK Modern Slavery Act, as well as addressing key environmental and animal welfare challenges.

Our Commitment

The people in our business who will take on the responsibility for procurement and supplier management will be provided with training and support in sustainable procurement practices. The sustainability criteria outlined in this policy are built into our procurement process, from sourcing and selection, to contract award and ongoing contract management. Over time these will increasingly become a prerequisite for all our suppliers. We’ll encourage all suppliers to proactively work to improve practices in relation to these principles, in order to secure  contracts with us. We know it’s not always straightforward, but we do expect openness and transparency in our relationships with our suppliers. We support continuous improvement with suppliers who need help in any area of this policy. Ultimate responsibility for this policy is held by Dimitrios Panagiotidis, owner of the  Jim Panos brand.

Our Clients

Everything we create, plan and do is all about our clients, in order to help them reach and go above and beyond their limits, transforming their career and life. Their true happiness and fulfilment not only are they the core of our business; they are our business. This way serve our vision for the world: To inspire 3 billion people in 195 countries by 2060 to find their passion in their career.

To accomplish this vision, we know that we always have to remind ourselves our ”Why”, as well as always go for the extra mile, and even further! For these reasons, we know it’s important that everyone feels welcome and has easy access to one of the most fundamental human rights regardless of their age, abilities, gender, background or who they choose to love: The right to Well-being. Everyone deserves to be happy and passionate at work and in their life, and we’re fully committed to customising our products and services to our clients’ individual needs, preferences, values and aspirations.

Our non-profit partnerships

We will partner with people and organisations to both raise awareness and take further action around sustainability and environmental protection. We are going to work with a wide variety of suppliers from various industries, as well as with governments, scientists, environmentalists, non governmental organisations (NGOs) and charitable organisations around the world. In addition, we will organise investment initiatives to directly support a number of future charity partnerships.

We’re also planning to raise awareness around sustainability by delivering educational workshops, seminars and events to young people during our participation in the London Enterprise Adviser Network, a volunteering programme of Mayor of London, for the academic year 2019-2020.
