How to Believe in Yourself – Part of Chapter V of the upcoming book “Find Your Passion”

How to Believe in Yourself – Part of Chapter V of the book “Find Your Passion

Today, we’ll explore potential unconscious biases and limiting beliefs around personal growth.

This area of your life is important for the collective beliefs that can stop you from discovering and following your passion. If you don’t grow as a person, you won’t grow as a professionalThe less you grow, the less value you provide others and the less likely you will be to turn your passion into a career with more impact, income, and fulfillment. So, keep an eye on the following beliefs:

“Intelligence Is Reason”

Wrong. Intelligence is not limited to reason or your reasoning and analytical skills. Are the last ones useful? Absolutely. Are they necessary for you to discover and get paid for your passion? Absolutely not—nor are they required for you to be both happy and successful. They are required for you should you want to pursue a career where analytical thinking is necessary, such as in S.T.E.M. fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

What about all the IQ tests that are asked for by employers and colleges to evaluate your intelligence, even if they’re related very little to your role or studies? At the end of the day, everyone wants to hire and work with smart people, right? But these evaluations are obsolete and insufficient to evaluate one’s intelligence. They are based on models of the Industrial Revolution, where IQ tests were designed to assess whether one has any mental illness or not. They were never designed to evaluate your ability to reason and analyze, much less your intelligence. They were created to measure the minimum, not the maximum, of your reasoning skills.

Furthermore, intelligence is much broader than reasoning because not only does it include analytical thinking, but also a person’s unique talents and natural strengths. Intelligence is in communication, music, designing, dancing, writing, speaking, building, singing, investing, running, swimming, inspiring, leading, negotiating, cooking, caring, loving, and problem-solving! That last one is a product of reason, but it’s just a tiny part of intelligence. Overall, intelligence includes any natural strength and talent. It’s your natural genius. It’s your “superpower”! That’s right. You have your own unique superpower! And it doesn’t have to be reasoning, just like a fish doesn’t have to climb a tree, a bee doesn’t have to dive into the sea, and a human doesn’t need to fly.

That’s exactly why you should stop wondering if you’re smart and start exploring how to tap into your inner genius and discover your greatest superpower

Now, write down and read out loud 3 times in front of a mirror the statement below. Read them with love and fierce confidence.

– My intelligence is infinite. I tap into it every day.
