Inconceivable Value – Part of Chapter VI of the upcoming book “Find Your Passion”

Inconceivable Value – Part of Chapter VI of the upcoming bookFind Your Passion

Whether you want to turn your passion into your dream job or passion-based business, there’s nothing more important than delivering – guess what – value! Whether it’s to your employer, manager, and team, or your clients. Remember that it’s all about covering at least one human need. Well, what’s more here is that the more needs you cover for someone, the greater the value you bring! That’s why it’s not just about “delivering value”, but delivering inconceivable value. This means that such is the greatness of the value you bring, that the receiver cannot even conceive it! In other words, you blow them away!

Think about it. Is being an Olympic gold medalist 23 times, such as Michael Phelps, the same as winning the gold medal for one time? Nope. It’s great, but not inconceivable. Remember:

Good is the enemy of the great. Great the enemy of excellent. Excellent the enemy of outstanding; and outstanding of inconceivable! Be inconceivable at serving others’ needs, and you’ll be rewarded inconceivably. That’s what allowed me to build the trust required and work with my first high paying clients and made me complete my transition from a law graduate and a sales associate to a transformational career coach and business owner.

That’s also what allowed Maisa from Brazil to not only grow her cosmetics business, but dominate the national market of a foreign country, Guyana. In the beginning, she had no cash. No team. No resources. No connections. No idea about her ideal client and their culture. But she had her love for beauty and her passion for sales. It was exactly what she needed to have faith in her power, to keep believing in herself.

Her passion didn’t let her focus on the money, but the value she needed to bring to her customers. Yes, she added inconceivable value to her ideal customer. She added value first. She shared her experience and knowledge with her prospective customer for free. She educated them. Learned everything about their culture and profile. Delivered unprecedented customer serviceMade sure every member of her team felt as part of a team, part of the company’s vision, part of a whole. She also trained her team members to always put themselves into customers’ shoes. The rest is history here too.

Go above and beyond the expectations. By adding inconceivable value, you build trust because you establish yourself as an authority, the expert, the “go-to person” for a specific problem for a specific category of people. This way, you’ll build credibility and become invaluable in the market.

Besides that, there are three more important elements for you to establish trust. First, it’s consistency. You need to be consistent in delivering inconceivable value. Day-in-day-out. How can you focus on this every day? Ask yourself the question:

“What can I do today to add inconceivable value?”

The second element to build trust is relatability. You see, people like people who are like themselves. I underestimated the power of relatability in the past. I thought trust was based on your credentials, experience, and results.

That would have been the case if we were primarily logical, not emotional beings. Remember, our subconscious is in charge. That means our beliefs and feelings. The relatability can also be based on unconscious biases. So, people who look and think like you, as well as people who share the same values, pains, challenges, story, and experiences, might be more receptive and open to trust you than others. People who relate to you and your story can also be your ideal clients, employer, or recruiter.

Last but not least, all the above have no meaning if they are not based on integrityIntegrity is all about being honest and transparent, to yourself and others. Never promise anything you cannot deliver. Overpromising and underdelivering is one of the best ways to lose your credibility and harm your reputation. Don’t try to cheat. Don’t go for the instant gratification and pleasure of the present moment; whether it’s a “little lie” to close a deal, or get hired. People work with the people they trust most. Step out from your ego and focus on what they want. It’s not easy in the beginning, but you’ll later reap the benefits of nurturing and establishing long-term relationships. Start thinking long-term.
